Off Course

One down, plenty to go

It is my pleasure to start this blog with some good news!

After some months of intensive study, I have finally managed to get a good GMAT score.  OK, it was in my second attempt, but nevertheless I felt pretty good with myself.

Me and my wife are pharmacists. Needless to say that math calculations, algebra, geometry, and so on, are concepts that we didn´t deal with for a long time. The same applies for english language. So, this GMAT thing really made us shake off the dust of some parts of our brains.

Now, as the first (and most difficult) step is made, I am now preparing for the second exam – TOEFL. But I think after that verbal section on the GMAT, I can now proclaim myself ready for the TOEFL (or so I hope…). At the same time, I will start writing those four or five essays. We are only applying to one B-school (INSEAD), so I only need to write these essays once.

One last note for reference letters. I would advise everyone who is thinking of applying to a B-school to take care of this as soon as possible. It is amazing how much time you spent trying to make your recommenders write the references.

Well, that’s it for now. Our first post.
